Frequently Asked Questions – For Students

If you are unable to locate your student portal invitation, please check your junk/spam email folder.

Via the Student Portal or by contacting your local Mines Rescue Station.

Individual bookings can be made via our course search page on the website. If you are unable to see the course or date you want, contact the station directly.

For full qualifications or group bookings, contact the station directly.

Please notify Mines Rescue immediately if you are unable to attend your course.

Please refer to the Mines Rescue Student Handbook for details on our Fees, Charges and Refund policy or speak with station staff.

Mines Rescue is not CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) registered.

If you hold an Australia visa, please contact Mines Rescue prior to booking your course with the visa type and expiration date so we can determine if we can proceed with your enrolment. We will need to sight your visa when you attend training so please bring a copy with you.

Mines Rescue minimum age for enrolment is 15 years. If you are between the ages for 15 and 18, we require your parent or guardian to sign your Student Enrolment Form. Please contact a Mines Rescue Station directly to enquire or enrol into your course.

Bookings made via the website will require full payment via credit card at the time of booking.

For group bookings or account holders, please contact the station directly.

Mines Rescue aims to issue all credentials within 14 days, these will be emailed to you and available via your student portal.

Check the email address you nominated on enrolment, remembering to check your junk folder. If you have created your aXcelerate student portal account, login and select your past workshop to view and download credentials.

If you have created your aXcelerate student portal account, you can login and download your academic transcript.

Once you have logged in, click on your picture/initials on the top right and choose “academic transcript” from the dropdown.

If you do not have access to the student portal, contact your relevant Mines Rescue station.

Mines Rescue uses aXcelerate’s Student Portal, which allows you to view your course details, learning materials, and copies of your credentials.

Some of our courses are also available as eLearning modules through this platform. In addition, specific courses will have online assessments that will require you to log in to the portal.

You will receive an invitation to the Student Portal the first time you are enrolled in a course with electronic assessments, please ensure you follow the steps outlined in your invitation. For existing users, login in at minesrescue.app.axcelerate.com

If you cannot remember your login details and are unable to reset your password, please contact your relevant station directly.

Mines Rescue recognises and acknowledges that current skills and knowledge can be gained in a number of ways:

  • Through formal training
  •  Informal training
  • Through previous work experience and general life experience.

If you have already gained a unit of competency or feel that you have already gained the required knowledge, skills, and experience to demonstrate competence you may apply to apply for Credit Transfer (CT) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
