WHS Refresher - Half Day

This course refreshes your knowledge in a variety of subjects such as principal hazards, isolation, hazard and risk identification, and other relevant WHS matters within the NSW coal mining industry  

Who Should Attend?

Experienced individuals who require refresher training to meet site requirements.

Refresher options

Mines Rescue has a range of refresher options for experienced individuals, please refer to the entry requirements and the related course options below.

Mines Rescue strongly suggests confirming specific requirements with your employer and/or site prior to booking.

What you will learn

• Principal hazard awareness
• Risk and Isolation procedures
• Firefighting techniques and procedures

Credential issued

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded:

• Mines Rescue - Self-Escape Card

This card may be required for site access, please confirm directly with your site for their requirements.

Course delivery

This course is delivered through classroom-based training, desktop scenarios, virtual reality and practical exercises.

Assessment includes written, oral and practical tests.

Entry requirements

• You must have successfully completed sufficient WHS training within eighteen (18) months of the course date.
• When booking this course, you will be asked to provide evidence that you have completed the above training (e.g. your Self-Escape Card eighteen (18) months of the course date.

The WHS refresher is offered at Newcastle and Hunter Valley

Refresher:

Mines Rescue recommends refresher training be completed annually.

For students requiring six-monthly self-escape training only.

For individuals requiring self-escape training, three-yearly oxygen-generating self-contained self-rescuer (OSCSR) training and the WHS refresher.
