Risk Management

This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to carry out risk management processes in the coal and metalliferous mining industries.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the following unit:

• RIIRIS402E Carry out the risk management process

This unit contributes to the completion of the RII40420 Certificate IV in Underground Coal Operations and the RII50920 Diploma of Underground Coal Mining Management.

Course delivery

This course is delivered through classroom-based training, desktop scenarios and practical exercises.

Assessment includes written, oral and practical tests.

Two days

Entry requirements

• There are no formal prerequisites for this course
• It is expected that you have experience working in an underground coal/metalliferous mining environment.
• This course is based on a Certificate IV level qualification. You should have appropriate literacy and numeracy skills to manage course work, activities and assessments.
• Mines Rescue recommends you be aware of the policies and procedures of your workplace before starting the course.

• Fully enclosed footwear
• Unique Student Identifier (USI) number 
• Mines Rescue highly recommends bringing a laptop to classes at the station
